Catella Worstaions can be configured to fit your requirements.
Both the number of monitors and the system's components
can be scaled to meet your needs. The building blocks are
interchangeable, giving you the freedom to match your current
capacity with your choice of configurations. No matter
how you configure your Catella workstation, it will have
the same ease of operation, productivity-enhancing user
interface, and Active Voice Command features.
The major Catella advantages include:
- Intuitive workflow
- Complete image manipulation tools
- Active Voice Command sm
- Instant reporting capabilities
- Audio Attendant™
Catella uses an open hardware architecture based on Intel/AMD
technology and Windows 2000. With open architecture,
Catella can accommodate a large variety of custom configurations
including up to 8 LCD or CRT monitors.

ACTIVE VOICE COMMAND
You are involved in digital imaging because of digitals
promise to provide you more and better information, and
its promise to increase your productivity.Active Voice
Command (AVC) is one of the ways Catella delivers on this
productivity promise!
In its simplest form, AVC allows you to control image
manipulation and patient film selection with your voice.
This will speed your review and diagnostic process because
the voice commands Catella uses are the traditional terms
you already know.
AVC eliminates your need to memorize icons and mouse commands,
finger positions, button locations, and all those things
that take your mind off the diagnostic process. Studies
have shown that 20% of a radiologist's time is spent finding
menus on other workstations.
With AVC, Catella becomes an intelligent assistant.
AVC is also integrated into Catella 's Audio Attendant
. The Audio Attendant gives you instructions and constructive
error messages. You are free to concentrate on your diagnostic
work rather than having to remember how to operate the
workstation.
AUDIO ATTENDANT
In designing Catella, we attempted to take the computer
out of your work environment. Both the look and feel of
the product will remind you of a traditional console-mount
viewbox. If you use the Active Voice Command System, you
will rarely use a trackball or keyboard.
Audio Attendant is another unique Catella feature to make
your life easier and your working time more productive.
Using audio feedback, Catella tells you key words and commands
to help you move rapidly through your worklist.
Here are a few examples of how Audio Attendant works:
- When you are about to move to another patient's films
but haven't seen all of the images from this patient,
Audio Attendant will remind you that "more images" are
available.
- If you push to the outer limits of zoom, pan, window
or level, Catella will remind you with a soft "beep"
- When you select the measure tool, Catella gives you
instruction on its use…. "Right click and
drag"
There is no need to memorize how to use Catella. Audio
Attendant will remind you.
IMAGE REVIEW TOOLS
Catella contains a complete set of image manipulation
tools and exceeds the 1999 ACR recommendations. Here are
some of the more commonly used one:
Swap - Allows user to move images to more desired monitor
positions. Like "flipping" films.
Stack - Multiple image files can be played sequentially
at user-selected speeds. Stack mode is useful for MR/CT
image viewing. (Stack/Cine mode is also functional for
most Nuclear Medicine and Angio studies.
Annotate - .Highlight important areas of interest and
include specific text explanations. These annotated images
can be attached and/or embedded into your report and also
saved in non-DICOM formats for such needs as teaching records
or lecture notes.
Other Tools include: Window/Level, Advance, Previous,
Flip, Rotate, Invert, Measure, Zoom, Pan, Thumbnail, Remarks,
Options, and more.
INSTANT REPORTING CAPABILITIES
Catella can be integrated into your facility based dictation
system. Call us with your specific needs.
- Catella captures important patient and study information
to help automate your reporting functions. Listed here
are the standard Catella reporting functions.
- Catella can automatically send reading status or emergency
diagnostic messages to others. This is ideal for teleradiologists
or doctors reading for emergency rooms who want to keep
the sending location informed. Preliminary reads, including
annotated images can be sent automatically by fax!
- Catella can print and/or send a completed work list
at the end of a reading session. This allows you to keep
track of your completed work.
- Physicians, either on or off-site, can have instant,
secure access to images as soon as they are made. Historical
images can be automatically attached to current images
and all images can be queried from a local archive.
- Your dictation can be routed anywhere you desire, automatically.
Key patient, physician, and institutional information
are transferred from the DICOM record, reducing transcription
time and errors. Using MS Word®, the Catella Scribe
system allows the use of templates for stationary development
and work macros to assure standardization of reports.
With active voice command, instant reporting and transcription
programming, Catella offers you the possibility of integrating
your dictation system with our workstation.
